	The Carbon Offset Program enables environmentally conscious travelers to minimize their carbon footprint. Luggage Forward has partnered with Carbonfund.org, one of the country’s leading carbon offset organizations to allow clients to offset the carbon dioxide emissions generated from the airplanes, trucks and trains that are used to forward luggage. This innovative program is the first of its kind offered by any luggage shipping provider. This commitment establishes Luggage Forward as an environmental leader in the emerging travel industry vertical of luggage delivery services and demonstrates the proactive steps the company is taking in the fight against global climate change.
Why Offset? Increased carbon dioxide emissions from the burning of fossil fuels have been shown to cause the climate to change and warm. If left unchecked, this trend will have catastrophic results. The effects of climate change can be seen today as temperatures are increasing and storms are becoming more powerful and causing more severe damage. Luggage Forward’s clients have expressed their concern about global warming and its potential impact to some of the world’s most treasured travel destinations. How Does it Work? Luggage Forward, working with Carbonfund.org, has calculated the amount of carbon dioxide emissions generated from the airplanes, trucks and trains that are used to forward luggage. Based on the average emission for each bag, clients will have the option to contribute to supporting the reduction of these carbon dioxide emissions. This contribution will be applied to renewable energy, energy efficiency and reforestation projects by Carbonfund.org. How Much Does it Cost? This program will give clients the option of adding $1 per bag to their booking total, which will be used to balance out the carbon dioxide emissions from an average Luggage Forward shipment. This contribution will be used to support carbon-reducing projects such as renewable energy, energy efficiency and reforestation projects. Luggage Forward's Contribution Luggage Forward has further demonstrated its commitment to the environment by implementing several programs at the company’s Boston headquarters. All non-essential paperwork and documentation has been eliminated from each shipment, and Luggage Forward has put in place a comprehensive office-wide recycling program.
