About the Opportunity:
As the Chief of Staff at Luggage Forward, you will be a force-multiplier to the CEOs, involved in planning and executing on the company’s value creation strategy. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across all functional areas of a fast-growing business, including exposure to the Board of Directors. You will work closely with the CEOs and other company executives to make data-driven decisions setting the direction of the company. You will put strategy into motion by leading cross functional growth initiatives and projects. We are looking for someone who communicates proactively and honestly across all of our stakeholders, pursues excellence, and is growth-orientated. The ideal candidate is comfortable with ambiguity and an ingenious problem solver that can prioritize, own, and execute initiatives alongside company leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
Your day to day will not look the same but your overall role will include the following responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Alignment
- Participate in strategic planning with the co-CEOs and other executives, including evaluating growth opportunities, operational priorities, and organizational decisions
- Act as a liaison between stakeholders to ensure involvement and decision making on top strategic initiatives for the company; stakeholders may include team members, clients, and executives at top travel brands
- Lead strategic finance initiatives, analyzing and interpreting data to support financial and operational decision-making across the business
- Create presentations for the leadership team and Board of Directors to support strategic decision-making
Executional Leadership
- Collaborate across internal and external stakeholders to stand-up new high value initiatives across the organization from ideation through launch, ensuring successful transitions to operating team
- Lead occasional cross-functional special projects in response to changes across the shipping and travel industries
- Identify and execute on opportunities to build infrastructure and improve processes across the company to foster collaboration and operational efficiency
- Own metrics scorecards and KPI reporting – supporting KPI analysis and maintaining dashboards
- Become part of our organizational “glue” – connecting and supporting the team as we scale while proactively surfacing challenges to be addressed
- Problem-solve continuously with a data driven approach to recommending and implementing clear long-term solutions
Requirements and Skill Sets:
- Able to build credibility, relationships, and networks quickly across internal and external stakeholders
- Continuous problem solver with critical thinking skills who can distill and communicate complex issues
- Analytical and strategic thinker— data-driven and analytical in problem solving while also understanding the big picture
- An entrepreneurial “roll up your sleeves” mindset
- Proven ability to prepare in-depth, strategic presentation materials
- Strong proficiency in Excel, with modeling and financial analysis experience
- 5+ years of experience in consulting, private equity, or business operations
- MBA preferred but not required
