Well, please remember it, because tighter luggage standards are coming. Mark my words. Every time an airline adds a new row of seats, we move one step closer. It may even get to the point where sending luggage by express mail makes more sense. Your bags shouldn't be baggage — Getting yourself from Point A to Point B while you duck summer storms is difficult and draining enough. Don't magnify the problems by checking luggage, which will only slow you down and might not fly with you as you pick your way through the detritus of summer schedules. Fly only with carry-ons whenever possible. If you must pack a load, ship it instead. Fortunately, Luggage Forward had picked up my golf clubs from my house in South Carolina earlier in the week and they were now waiting for me in my hotel. The company specializes in sending luggage ahead of travelers, allowing them to avoid extra cost at the airport and the hassle of lost baggage. The weekend included 54 holes of golf between rounds at Yale University Golf Club and Winged Foot. Removing the large variable of traveling with clubs made the short 2 day trip exponentially more enjoyable. read more ...
